What It Costs to Develop a Beauty Device
Where the money goes in a beauty device project, and why a number without a specification is meaningless.

Why a single price is not possible
“Develop a beauty device” covers a plain private-label unit and a new-form-factor device with custom electronics. They differ by more than an order of magnitude in cost. Any supplier who quotes one number without asking for the specification is quoting a guess.
The cost lines that always exist
- Industrial design — from a colour change to a new form
- Mechanical design and prototyping — iterations are billed in rounds
- Tooling — usually the largest single line; scales with part count and surface finish
- Electronics — from a reused control board to a new one with sensors
- Certification — depends on markets and on whether the device radiates
- Pilot run and validation — materials, labor and test time
The lines that surprise buyers
Certification scope, packaging tooling, and the second round of prototypes. Projects rarely pass on the first T1.
How we quote
Stage by stage, with a deliverable at each stage, so you can stop at a boundary instead of committing to the whole development at once.
